Wooden footbridge
Hurden–Rapperswil
You can walk in the middle of the lake and still have solid ground under your feet. Enjoy Lake Zurich from a completely different perspective.
Lake Zurich is located along the Way of St. James pilgrimage route. Pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela have used the wooden bridge to cross the lake already for centuries.
The wooden footbridge was rebuilt at the turn of the millennium. It is 841 meters in length and thus the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland. The project cost 3 million Swiss francs, and was made possible thanks to private donations and financial support from cantons and communities. The new bridge was opened on April 6, 2001.
