Älpler Magronen

Traditional Schwyz recipe

A classic, loved by young and old alike

Ingredients

2 litre salted water
4 - 6 medium potatoes
150 - 200 g macaroni
Cheese, cream and milk

Preparation

Bring the salted water to a boil, add the cubed potatoes and cook until parboiled.

Add macaroni and cook until al dente.

Arrange on a hot serving dish, intersperse the cheese between the potatoes and macaroni. Top with crispy sautéed onions and a generous portion of butter.

Heat a bit of cream and milk in a pan and pour over the Älpler Magronen. Serve immediately.

Tip

Traditionally served with applesauce.
