Rigi Kaltbad - Kaenzeli - Rigi Kulm - Chaeserenholz - Rigi Kloesterli

A route full of highlights. From the view at Rigi Kaenzeli where Queen Victoria of England was already thrilled during her visit in 1868.

The hike starts at the "village square" Rigi Kaltbad. After the rock chapel, this flat path leads from Rigi Kaltbad through secluded forest areas, past interesting rock formations, to the Kaenzeli vista point. There you have a majestic view of Lake Lucerne and the crowning panorama of the Alps.

From here you will hike uphill all the time to Rigi Staffelhöhe. After 100 metres of altitude difference you will reach Rigi Kulm, the highest peak of the Rigi with a spectacular 360° panoramic view. On the descent to Rigi Klösterli you should definitely stop by the well-known cheese dairy Chaeserenholz and taste the tasty alp cheese. The trail continues to Ober-Schwändi and finally to Rigi Klösterli. In Rigi Klösterli the 300 year old chapel "Maria zum Schnee" is worth a visit. The pretty pilgrimage chapel is one of the most beautiful mountain chapels in the world.
