The panorama on the Schilteli Alp is overwhelming.
The hike to Alp Schilteli starts at the Tourismusplätzli in the village centre of Morschach. A small section of the route runs along the "Swiss Path" and then turns east towards Degenbalm. Uphill and through the forest you reach the Hetzig homestead. From this platform you can effortlessly overlook the whole village of Morschach. Now the trail follows the natural road through a forest to the Alp Schilteli turn-off. The mountain path to your destination leads you through the shady forest and along the Lauitobel. Comfortable wooden steps are built into the upper part of the path and there is a sturdy fence everywhere on the valley side for safety reasons. On the Schilteli Alp, you are offered a tremendous panorama. From the Schwyz valley basin to the Uri Alps, everything is in front of you, you can even discover Seelisberg with the Seeli. The way back leads you on the natural road through the Schilteli forest back down into the valley. If you keep quiet, you may have the opportunity to observe some game here. To avoid returning to Morschach the same way, leave the road heading west and hike over the Schilti homestead, practically towards Lake Lucerne. When you reach the road, take the path towards Morschach. You are then already back on the "Swiss Path", which leads towards the village. Towards your destination, you will pass idyllic homesteads and two chapels that invite you to take a break.
