Sihlseeli has an underground outflow. In the spring, char fish are released into Sihlseeli by the Einsiedeln Fishing Association. Those who have an annual fishing permit for Sihlsee are allowed to fish in Sihlseeli.
The return journey is via the mountain hiking trail to Untersihl. Cross the bridge over the Sihl on the staircase and then return to Gribschli. From there, the route is the same as on the way there.
Variations: From Sihlseeli, various routes can be taken, such as the one over Saaspass to Au at Lake Wägital, which you can reach in about three hours.
Plan your route before the hike and check bus schedules and weather forecasts. Allow for enough extra time.
Note: During the summer, the mountain hiking trail up to Sihlseeli from Gribschli-Fläschlihöchi is closed, as the sheep are grazing there and are supervised by herding dogs. The mountain trail (red/white, Lauiberg via Stegleren) is open. If you have any questions, you can contact the Ybrig Tourist Office at +41 55 414 26 26.
